Cyber-security firm Darktrace has said it intends to list its shares on the London Stock Exchange.

Darktrace did not indicate how much it is seeking to raise, but media reports suggest it could be as much as £3bn.

The move is seen as a sign of confidence in the London market after Deliveroo's flop flotation last month.

The food delivery business saw its shares fall sharply when trading began, casting doubt on efforts to persuade more big tech firms to list in the UK.

Darktrace was set up in 2013 by former members of the UK security services and maths professors.

It was among the first companies in its field to use artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning to improve cyber-security.

Rather than simply looking for a virus, its systems constantly monitor a company's computer system to look for abnormal patterns or behaviours.

Deliveroo shares tumble on stock market debut
Darktrace chief executive Poppy Gustafsson said a London listing was a "logical choice" for the Cambridge-based firm and that a US listing had not been considered. ทดลองเล่นสล็อต pg

She said Darktrace was a "very different company" from Deliveroo, being "a fundamental technology company".

Darktrace's annual revenue has grown from $79.4m (£57.7m) to $199.1m in the past two years.

However, it did not turn a profit on a pre-tax or operating basis.

Its largest shareholder is Invoke Trust, an investment fund belonging to tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch, who is facing fraud charges in the US related to the sale of his firm Autonomy in 2011 to computer giant Hewlett-Packard.

Install and Upgrade Help / Gmail 'safer than parliament's email system'
« เมื่อ: 24/07/21, 15:14:23 »
Google's email service - Gmail - is “more secure” than parliament's email system, the chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee has claimed.

Tom Tugendhat told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme he has repeatedly been the focus of cyber attacks over the past three years.

Hackers have tried to access his account and sent emails impersonating him, he told the BBC.

The Tory MP believes China and Iran were behind some of these attempts.

“I was told by friends at GCHQ that I was better off sticking to Gmail, rather than using the parliamentary system, because it was more secure,” said Mr Tugendhat. ทดลองเล่นสล็อต

“Frankly, that tells you the level of security and the priority we're giving to democracy in the United Kingdom.”

A spokeswoman said the parliamentary email system "offers significantly higher levels of security than external providers".

The National Cyber Security Centre said that MPs should continue to use the parliamentary email system.

Mr Tugendhat is one of a number of British politicians being sanctioned by China over what it sees as the spreading of “lies and disinformation” about human rights abuses of the Uyghur population in the Xinjiang region of China.

General Thai Support / MI5 warns of spies using LinkedIn to steal secrets
« เมื่อ: 24/07/21, 15:13:12 »
At least 10,000 UK nationals have been approached by fake profiles linked to hostile states, on the professional social network LinkedIn, over the past five years, according to MI5.

It warned users who had accepted such connection requests might have then been lured into sharing secrets.

"Malicious profiles" are being used on "an industrial scale", the security agency's chief, Ken McCallum, said.

A campaign has been launched to educate government workers about the threat.

The effort - Think Before You Link - warns foreign spies are targeting those with access to sensitive information.
One concern is the victims' colleagues, in turn, become more willing to accept follow-up requests - because it looks as if they share a mutual acquaintance.

Travel opportunities pg
MI5 did not specifically name LinkedIn but BBC News has learned the Microsoft-owned service is indeed the platform involved.

The 10,000-plus figure includes staff in virtually every government departments as well as key industries, who might be offered speaking or business and travel opportunities that could lead to attempts to recruit them to provide confidential information.

And it is thought a large number of those approached engaged initially with the profiles that contacted them online.

"No-one is immune to being socially manipulated into wrongdoing through these approaches," the guidance given to government staff says.

LinkedIn has said it welcomes the initiative.

The startled recipient immediately took it, along with the cash, to the police station, the paper says.

The discovery "could be linked with drug traffickers", Sud-Ouest added. สล็อต ฝาก-ถอน true wallet

When England footy fans tune in for their side's big Euro 2020 knockout clash with Germany after work on Tuesday, they will be spurred on by the sounds of a Frenchman - whether they realise it or not.

Force Majeure, the cinematic-sounding and typically banging track from Gaspard Augé - aka one half of electronic duo Justice - has been the BBC's official theme song throughout the tournament.

The corporation's choice of tune was music to the ears of the Parisian DJ and producer.

"It was really just the best news for me," Augé tells BBC News, ahead of his country's shock defeat to Switzerland. "Because I made this track with some sort of sporting event - a boxing match or a football match - in [my] head.

"Just this kind of survivor feel to it, something very epic, like when something is about to happen."

He continues: "[I wanted] to create some kind of feeling of invincibility, like when you're walking on the street and listening to a track and you feel really pumped up.

"And I guess it definitely works for the Euros."
The compatriot of Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappé, Eric Cantona et al admits he doesn't "know much" about le foot, but says he now has "no excuse" not to watch it.

"It's funny because my best friend was never into football since I knew him," he adds, "and now [since the track] he's gone completely crazy about it."

'Set the tone'
The BBC's football creative director Mark Woodward, who helped to select the song, noted how a major sports tournament "deserves a music track to set the tone, and Force Majeure definitely does this".

"This summer, Euro 2020 across the BBC will be consumed by millions and Gaspard's first single as a solo artist works perfectly alongside our TV output," he said.

The TF1 channel in Augé's native France returned the compliment, selecting Higher Power by England's very own Coldplay as its official theme song.

"Maybe it means Brexit is over," jokes Augé. pg slot

"To be fair, to me it just means that the English people have better taste in music."

While the Beeb went for a bit of French electro, soaked in synths, bass and beats, to soundtrack the summer of football, the other UK Euros broadcaster, ITV, did plump for something homegrown - Michael Kiwinuka's You Ain't the Problem.

General Thai Support / Wild baby gorilla born to captive-bred parents
« เมื่อ: 6/07/21, 12:11:35 »
A baby gorilla born in West Africa is thought to be the first offspring of parents born in captivity and then released into the wild.
The baby western lowland gorilla was born to 13-year-old mother Mayombe and 15-year-old father Djongo in the Bateke Plateau National Park, Gabon.
Djongo was born at Port Lympne Reserve in Kent and released together with his father Djala in 2013.
Mayombe was born at ZooParc de Beauval in Saint-Aignan, France.
She was released in Gabon in 2019 through a collaboration between the Aspinall Foundation and the zoo.
The new baby is being monitored by rangers, with the new family regularly caught on camera traps.
The baby's grandfather, Djala, was rescued by the Aspinal Foundation in 1986 after being orphaned when his family was killed by poachers.
A family group living at Port Lympne, made up of Djala, a group of females and his young offspring, were flown to Bateke Plateau National Park in 2013.
Mayombe and Djongo are believed to be the first gorilla pair, where both parents were born in captivity, to mate successfully in the wild, the Aspinall Foundation said. slotpg
Damian Aspinall, chairman, said the birth "symbolises" his organisation's efforts to protect gorillas.
Mr Aspinal said: "Thirty-five years ago, our work saved Djongo's father and allowed that family lineage to continue after devastating loss.
"The next generation of this critically endangered species given a full life in the wild, free from human persecution, is a powerful image in a project that has come full circle."
Delphine Delord, from ZooParc de Beauval, said: "This baby gorilla, offspring of our female Mayombe born in Beauval, represents a huge step for global conservation, of which we are immensely proud."
